Baby Tracker - Sticky Post

Thursday, May 24, 2007

So. Tired.

I am wiped out.

I barely have the energy to work and do basic stuff around the house. And when I say basic I mean basically nothing... you should SEE the laundry piled up around here. Hubbz is being great about it all and very understanding of my need to spend so much time with my ass plastered to the couch, but I'm drained ya'll. This baby is taking all I've got to give... and then some. So, until I'm feeling more like myself, I'm going to take a little blogging break. I need to devote any energy I do have to family, home and work.

Hopefully I'l be back soon. Thanks for checking in on me this last week. I do appreciate that!

You guys are the best!!

Grandmaster Scrappy

What planet are you from?

You Are From Mercury

You are talkative, clever, and knowledgeable - and it shows.
You probably never leave home without your cell phone!
You're witty, expressive, and aware of everything going on around you.
You love learning, playing, and taking in all of what life has to offer.
Be careful not to talk your friends' ears off, and temper your need to know everything.

What's your EQ?*

This is pretty spot on for me...

Your EQ is 127

50 or less: Thanks for answering honestly. Now get yourself a shrink, quick!
51-70: When it comes to understanding human emotions, you'd have better luck understanding Chinese.
71-90: You've got more emotional intelligence than the average frat boy. Barely.
91-110: You're average. It's easy to predict how you'll react to things. But anyone could have guessed that.
111-130: You usually have it going on emotionally, but roadblocks tend to land you on your butt.
131-150: You are remarkable when it comes to relating with others. Only the biggest losers get under your skin.
150+: Two possibilities - you've either out "Dr. Phil-ed" Dr. Phil... or you're a dirty liar.

Dream a little dream for Jane...

Maria's friend GI Jane, who is very, very pregnant, had a disturbing dream and is feeling like a bad mother because of it. To help ease GI Jane's mind that she's (a) not a horrible mother and (b) not alone in the weird dream department, Maria asked what kind of dreams others had while they were pregnant. And I've got a doozy... a lot of it even came true!!

In the dream, I am at my mom's house and I am pregnant. My brother comes over to visit and informs us that he has a new car. It's a really cool convertible and I want him to take me for a ride in it, but no one will let me.* My brother leaves in his car to go on a joyride and when he returns, he has my baby! Just like that! I didn't have to birth him or anything... and it was a boy.

I don't remember how far along I was when I had the dream, but it was definitely before the 20 week ultrasound when we found out The Boy was a boy, so that was the first part that came true.

Then my brother actualy got a new car, though it wasn't a convertible.

At that point, we were all a little weirded out and my brother vowed not to spend anytime alone with me toward the end of my pregnancy for fear that he'd have to deliver the baby or something disgusting like that.

When The Boy was born, it actually turned out that I wasn't really "there" because I had to be put completely under for my unplanned c-section, so I was unconscious for the first 1 1/2 hours of his life.

Weird, huh?

I have also had several dreams since he was born where I accidentally inflict pain/harm to The Boy. Once I dropped him on concrete or something comparably hard and horrible (IN MY DREAM) and the sound of his head hitting the floor was so real, when I woke up in the morning I was still disturbed.

Maria, I don't know if this will make Jane feel any better about trying to trade in her imaginary Draco Malfoy baby, but I hope it at least helps a little!

Did anyone else have weird pregnancy dreams? Let's help Jane realize dreams don't make her a bad mother... they probably just mean she just reads too much Harry Potter :-)

* Sidebar: That part had already actually happened before my dream. My brother bought a scooter and I wanted him to take me for a ride on it, but Hubbz and my parents put the kibosh on that plan. Party poopers!!!
